We ended up with a dozen eggs in our basket-I think we kicked butt! The kicking butt included beating an 8 year-old and two almost 11 year-olds to the 12 eggs we got. There were over 50 hidden, I believe Christoper ended up with 18...so congrats and watch out next year! =)

Our visit to WS

On Saturday afternoon (before Easter) we went up to White Springs for a visit with my grandparents and mom. As a special treat Aunt Anne was up visiting with Dad/Wendell. My grandmother was released from the hospital the day before. She was doing much better but her tail bone was still super sore-I can't imagine! We ate dinner together and then visited before heading back home. My mom went back to NM on Easter Sunday-though it wasn't on the best terms, it was SO nice to see her that week! NM is too far away from FL =)

The week before Eli was sick we received our very first piece of artwork! When I picked him up from school that Thursday afternoon once we got home I noticed one of his hands had a blue tint to it, as well as all of his nails. I checked the calendar and sure enough it was a day set aside for finger painting. So the next morning I asked about him having anything from the day before and sure enough he did-what a simple thing, but it made my morning. I of course have included a picture....

We ventured out first thing Saturday morning for 3 month pics, he is always in a wonderful mood first thing in the morning-he definitely doesn't get that from me. When my brother was in trouble my Mom would make him wake me up as punishment-I apparently was a little bear! Eli hung in there and was a real sport-he even marked his turf by peeing on the black velvet! =0 I felt terrible, but it's just another day to them. Here are some of my favorites:

Eli weighed in @ 12.65 when he was at the doctor's Monday-I can't believe how big he has gotten over the last month. I've been told it's the "3 month growth spurt." He smiles and coos whenever something flips his switch-it is the cutest thing I have ever seen. He's doing really well with holding his head up and can sit in the bumbo without help. He is also doing well when we lay him on his tummy-you gotta do tummy time, Grandma D makes sure of that! :-) Not much going on with the thumb anymore, here recently he likes to try and fit his whole fist in his mouth.

Some of these pics aren't real clear because if he's awake he's never still-I wonder where he gets that from???


Today is also Justin & Wrenda's 3 year anniversary-so Happy Anniversary to them!

What a week! =0

Well this past week was a bit hectic for us all. It started the Friday before with Nanny being admitted to the hospital (Shands @ Live Oak). She was extremely dehydrated, which we believe was the result of a bladder/kidney infection-she gets to feeling bad, then stops eating/drinking. By Sunday they seemed to have gotten it under control and the plan was to release her the next morning. That all changed when her blood pressure shot up Sunday night and she was then transferred to ICU @ North Florida Regional in Gainesville. To complicate matters more, she broke her tail bone while in Live Oak-her whole back side was bruised and she was in so much pain she couldn't even sit up in bed to eat. My Nanny's back is terrible in the first place and she's had numerous surgeries and other procedures in order to make her more comfortable-all were no help. By Monday afternoon my Mom had made it in from New Mexico and my brother up from Lake Worth-we were all very worried by this point. The doctors finally got her blood pressure to stabilize and she was out on the cardio floor Wednesday afternoon and went home Friday morning.
In addition to finding out Nanny was in ICU first thing Monday morning, the baby was sick. He had a low grade fever on Sunday-I gave him Tylenol and kept a close eye on him. He was in good spirits otherwise so we weren't too concerned. By Monday morning his temp was 102.8-he looked like a little lobster and was just miserable. I called the Ped and she wanted to see him first thing, which was 9-apparently he got a cold which turned into an ear infection. He was back in school by Thursday-we juggled between grandparents Monday through Wednesday. I was told by his teacher that 4 out of the 5 children in his class were all on amox for an ear infection-case solved there, huh? I know he is building his immunity, but I don't like seeing him upset!

Eli's first wedding!

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Aaron Broome! They tied the knot on Saturday-though it was very breezy and quite cool, they had a beautiful wedding! Who knew it would rain for 48 hours straight and then drop to 40 degrees!

All of the guys had realtree tie/vests on, here is a pic of their tables-too cute huh? The brown bags weren't filled with rice.....it was corn-we didn't get to stick around to see them off, hopefully no one got hurt! :-)

We kept the baby wrapped up and warm which made him sleep through almost the whole thing.

Week two...

We are in our second week of me being back full-time at the law firm and Eli going to the Montessori school full-time. So far so good, though we did have to address one thing last week and then again this week-I think it's been taken care of and we both feel better about it. From what I can tell he is happy and well taken care of while he is there and that's what we care about. There are 5 other babies in his class-3 girls and 3 boys. He is eating and napping well while there too! Eli is holding his head up very well and is full of smiles almost all of the time, he is so much fun-speaking of, he has really taken to the bath tub too!

I am having to pump while @ work, some days that's easier than others. For example today I totally forget to pump around 10 and it was almost noon before it hit me. I'm thinking I need to put a big post-it on my screen, maybe that would make the light bulb go off. I'm not sure what makes my light bulb go off these days, my mind was 3 places @ a time before the baby....now it's about 6! I even lost him for about 20 seconds the other day, I have never been so scared in my life.....I thought I left him in his boppy and I had left him in his changer (it's inside the bassinet and no he couldn't of gone anywhere). My heart dropped and this wave of adrenalin ran through my body-it was crazy! I'm sure that won't be the last time I scare the mess out of myself.....welcome to motherhood, right?

We lucked up by starting this project @ no cost to us. JP has a friend @ work that needed to declutter his backyard-by doing so we got 2 sago palms and several tea olive trees.

My brother aka Uncle John came up for a visit last weekend-he lives in Lake Worth. We spent almost all weekend with him just hanging out and catching up-I had a really nice time visiting with him. I wish we didn't live 5 hours away from each other! =( Hopefully he will be back up one day soon....

2 months!

Where in the world does the time go.....it seems like it was just last week we found out we were expecting and now our baby boy is 2 months old!
I had the day (02/19) off so Eli and I went to the luncheon @ North Florida. They had a guest speaker who is a Nurse Practitioner as well as a Lactation Consultant-I know her from his Ped's office, she is a big reason we went with the office we did. Anywho, they served lasagna, salad, bread & cookies-it was all really good. Eli ate and slept the whole time so I was able to pay attention, she spoke on "sleep 101."

After lunch we headed over to Sears for pictures (proof above). Wrenda and Gavin were also at the mall so they joined us. Gavin had his 18 month pics done-they turned out really cute!

Hope you had a very happy V-day!

I had a great V-day! I was able to spend the whole day with my two favorite boys, JP & Eli-it was just perfect! We ran some errands and then went to the mall. JP took me shopping and I was actually able to shop-normally I am a solo shopper, maybe I'm turning over a new leaf. We ate lunch with Lyndi & Kestin at the Macaroni Grill-it was great catching up with Lyndi and Keston is getting so big. Lyndi & I try to have lunch every couple of weeks, hopefully we can keep that going even though I'm back @ work full-time.
Below is how my day started, I had just gotten out of the bath tub and look who was waiting for me.....isn't he just the sweetest thing you have ever seen???

An answered prayer for child care. We had Eli on a waiting list at the school/daycare in Alachua, they told us it would be August but called us to say they had an opening in March-what a blessing! We had a plan figured out until August but it required a lot of juggling around, he wasn't with the same person for more than a day @ a time-though it was with close family & friends. Anyway, it's taken care of now. We went for our tour and were very impressed. They are all really nice, have lots of experience with children, clean, organized and believe children are never too young to learn.
