Our aquarium...

We finally have our aquarium up and running...

First, the plants...

The more plants and some fish, though you can't see them they are there...you go small and cheap with cycle fish. More pics to come!

4 blissful years!

10.23.08: Happy anniversary to us!
Grandma D & Papa Mike watched Eli so that we could have a nice romantic dinner; we decided to go to the Great Outdoors Cafe.

10.18.08

JP had the opportunity to take a special little boy to the Gainesville Raceway for a day packed full of all types of racing. As you can see, they had a great time!

Curtains...

I started and finished a project within record time, curtains for Eli's room. =0 I have started about 10 different sewing projects over the last year...I can't think of any that are done, though they are on my "to do" list with about 30 other things! :-) Anyway, here they are all finished and hung-I was happy with the end result. (Thank you to Grandma D too!)

I really like yogurt!

The power of prayer...

PLEASE take a minute to say a prayer for my Nanny (my mom's mom). She is trying to recover from a major back surgery; she had 4 fusions and hardware put into every lumbar joint. She has been struggling since the minute she got into recovery with pain. She went home from the hospital a week after the surgery, then went back in after another two weeks. Now she is at a rehab facility and is still in extreme pain. We are praying that this pain is from healing and that it wasn't a lost cause, this is surgery #3. Thank you for your prayers and I will keep you posted.

Lessons learned...

10.13.08: What I learned today....
1) If you leave Eli in the tub too long he will eventually poop! :-0 He was quite fussy yesterday morning, I think his bottom teeth will be making an appearance very soon, so after he had breakfast I put him in the tub. He loves the water so I thought it would make him happy for the time being. I finished bathing him when Gammy called so I let him splash around while I talked with her. We were just about to get off the phone when I see him grinning from ear to ear and a LOG floating in the tub-I immediately hung up with my Mom! What a mess...literally!
2) Don't let your child hold your change purse while out shopping, especially at Wal-Mart! What the heck was I thinking??? I'm not sure at what point he decided to toss it from the cart, but he did and it was turned in at customer service-God bless the sweet soul who found it and turned it in. It had my ID, debit & credit cards in it; that was a close call.
Can you say "lessons learned!"

Gammy's Birthday-Part 2

09.25.08: We kept the celebration going....Mom and I dropped the baby off @ school and went to the spa. We had a spa pedicure and then a facial-which was a first for me. It was so relaxing! After the spa we went over to the mall.
For dinner, which was our present to Gammy, we went to Fuji Sushi-it was SO good! We ordered so much sushi that we ran out of room on the table and just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite the dessert for three came by surprise! Our waitress was clearing off the table and asked how everything was, I told her it was wonderful and a perfect birthday dinner for Mom. She disappeared to the back for about 5 minutes and then returned with the other waitress to sing Happy Birthday and deliver a plate full of fried bananas and ice cream-how sweet huh? Here are the pics; looks like we didn't get a pic together...

Happy Birthday Gammy-Part 1

09.23.08: This was birthday dinner #1 for Gammy. We met Nanny & Pop-pop @ the Roadhouse in Lake City. It was good as usual and we even got them to sing Happy Birthday to Gammy-she really appreciated it too! ;-)
