Happy 2008

Where do I begin? This past year was a very busy year for us, but filled with SO many blessings. We started it out by selling our home in Southside Terrace in order to start the building process. We closed at the end of January and had to get moved out. This is where Mike & Darlene came into the equation-they were kind enough to open up there home to us. We shacked up in their spare bedroom for a total of 6 months-we are so thankful for them and appreciate them being so generous. It also enabled us to stay on top of the building process because they live at the front of the neighborhood-it took us 4.5 months to build our home, not to shabby, huh?
In April we found out we were going to be parents-what a blessing! At 20 weeks we were told it was a boy for sure-I had 2 different dreams we were having a boy which was a neat coincidence. In getting ready for his arrival I had several showers and lots of goodies from people we didn't even know very well-close friends of the family. We have been showered and showered with gifts, I never thought so many people would think of us during this very special time. We can't thank everyone enough, we haven't had to purchase one single thing. We have also been given lots and lots of clothes from Chip & Christina-I am still trying to go through them all-again, we are very thankful for them thinking of us. At 36 weeks we went for our last ultrasound and baby Eli had not turned yet and Dr. Amy didn't think he was going to. This was not part of the plan, but as with most things in life you never know what will come your way you just have to adjust. We felt it was too risky to try and move him so we were set to have a baby on 12/19, which we did @ 12:37 p.m. to be exact. Everything went as planned and we went home 2 days later-I got to leave a day early because I was doing so well. I'm not going to lie, it hurt, your abdomen is SO sore but I got up as soon as I was given the go ahead and I think that's what helped me do as well as I did. I can remember JP doing something funny and me trying not to laugh because it hurt so bad-I told him no laughing until I wasn't sore any longer. The afternoon of the c-section was also rough on my stomach, I can remember trying to hand off the baby quickly because I was going to be sick-this was a lot better by the next morning. Dr. Amy dropped by Thursday morning to check on me and I asked how she was doing, she said to be honest I'm pooped, this was because she had delivered 8 babies within that 24 hour period-she thought that might be a record for her. I guess the babies were trying to get here before Christmas.
I thought turning 30 was going to be a big deal, but with all the baby excitement prior to it didn't even feel like my birthday-that means I'm still 29, right? =) Seriously I got the best present anyone could ask for!
We spent New Year's Eve (afternoon) in White Springs @ my grandparents-see picture of Pop-pop and Eli. We ate dinner with them and Mom & Richard. I think we made it home around 8 and were in bed around 9-needless to say we weren't up watching the ball drop. JP and I were exhausted!
JP and I are blessed to have great families and friends-truth is we wouldn't of made it through 2007 without all of you. We love you and appreciate all you do for us!
